Item component: minecraft:parrot/variant

Entity/item appearance setting for parrot variant.

Hold an item in authorized Build/Dev mode. The generic component command avoids collisions with legacy subcommands.

/item component minecraft:parrot/variant
/item component minecraft:parrot/variant clear
/item component minecraft:parrot/variant reset

The first command inspects the effective value. clear removes the component; reset restores the material’s default. These examples do not require inventing a structured value.

Supply the component’s Minecraft component-value SNBT after the key. Its scalar/list/object shape and registry fields are validated by the running Minecraft version. Use a compatible material and inspect the result before using it in gameplay.

/item component minecraft:parrot/variant <component-value SNBT>

Angle-bracket text is a syntax placeholder, not a literal accepted value. See component editing for complete scalar and structured examples.

Each command changes one component. Input is bounded to 16,384 characters and 32 nested levels. Invalid input leaves the held item unchanged; unrelated metadata/stack amount is preserved. Components with registry keys require existing valid entries; a key does not create an asset or a game feature by itself.

A direct registry-name command exists where no legacy item command occupies that name. Underscore-free/friendly aliases are registered only when available. Use the generic form above when in doubt; /help item and completion reflect the live registry.
