Item component: minecraft:unbreakable
Minecraft’s unbreakable item property.
Access and syntax
Section titled “Access and syntax”Hold an item in authorized Build/Dev mode. The generic component command avoids collisions with legacy subcommands.
/item component minecraft:unbreakable/item component minecraft:unbreakable clear/item component minecraft:unbreakable resetThe first command inspects the effective value. clear removes the component; reset restores the material’s default. These examples do not require inventing a structured value.
Setting a value
Section titled “Setting a value”This is a non-valued component. A direct component shortcut can use true/false; generic component access uses its component-value representation.
/item component minecraft:unbreakable <component-value SNBT>Angle-bracket text is a syntax placeholder, not a literal accepted value. See component editing for complete scalar and structured examples.
Limits and failure behavior
Section titled “Limits and failure behavior”Each command changes one component. Input is bounded to 16,384 characters and 32 nested levels. Invalid input leaves the held item unchanged; unrelated metadata/stack amount is preserved. Components with registry keys require existing valid entries; a key does not create an asset or a game feature by itself.
Direct names and aliases
Section titled “Direct names and aliases”A direct registry-name command exists where no legacy item command occupies that name. Underscore-free/friendly aliases are registered only when available. Use the generic form above when in doubt; /help item and completion reflect the live registry.
